Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers can dramatically improve the quality of a peson’s smile. The color, shape, alignment and size of the teeth can be altered to design the best smile for each person. We believe every person is unique and their needs vary, that’s why we take that into consideration when designing their smile.

A veneer is a thin layer of tooth-like material bonded over a tooth, either to improve the appearance of a tooth or to protect a tooth’s surface. There are two main types of material used to fabricate a veneer: composite and porcelain. A composite veneer may be directly placed (built-up in the mouth), or indirectly fabricated by a dental technician or your dentist in a dental laboratory, and later bonded to the tooth. In contrast, a porcelain veneer may only be indirectly fabricated.

A composite veneer that’s directly bonded to the tooth costs 8,000 per veneer while if they’re made indirectly (in the lab), costs 10,000. Direct veneers can be done in one day while indirect veneers may require 3 days to a week to finish. Composite veneers are not as aesthetic as porcelain veneers (but are almost as good) and lasts around 5-8 years as compared to 10-15 years for porcelain veneers. The reason is that composite veneers lack a bit in strength – they chip, discolor and require maintenance.
