Infection Control in Our Practice

Posted by on Apr 27, 2013

In these times of awareness of infectious disease through mass media and the internet, we want to share with you how we control our clinic practice to protect our patients against these infectious diseases. These practices are a based on scientific knowledge of this diseases and procedures in accordance to infection control guidelines set by the Philippine Dental Association. We are proud of the way we sterilise our instruments and manage our surroundings to protect both our patients and ourselves.

  • An autoclave is used to sterilise all instruments that can withstand this type of sterilisation.
  • For instruments that can’t be autoclaved, we use chemical agents that are safe, non-toxic and non-carcinogenic.
  • Changing gloves between patients and even within a procedure when it is contaminated.
  • Washing and scrubbing our hands every time.
  • Using alcohol and hand disinfectants
  • Wearing new masks every new patient.
  • Using disposable materials whenever possible and replacing them after every use.
  • Disinfecting the dental chair and everything we touch around the operatory including switches, buttons, etc.

We also advice our patients who are sick to reschedule their treatment to a later time or when they are fully recovered. If you are planing to set an appointment with us and feel that you are sick or have been sick just recently, please inform us.
